The client portal is a beautifully simple space where your customers can log in and access the courses or memberships they’ve purchased from you. It’s where their journey with you continues, where they dive into your content, and where they stay connected to your brand.
Throughout their journey, your customers can receive automated emails from the client portal. These might include welcome emails, updates when new modules are released, or reminders about their progress. Each one is an opportunity to speak directly to your audience in your own voice and give them a personal, on-brand experience. Here’s how to make those default templates feel more like you.
Step 1: Go to the Email Settings in the Client Portal
Head over to Create Your Offer, then click on Client Portal.
From there, click on Settings, then Email Settings.
Step 2: Choose the Email You Want to Edit
You’ll see a list of emails, such as welcome emails for courses.
These might be ticked or unticked depending on when you first started using FEA Create.
Find the section for Courses and look for the Sign Up – Welcome Email.
This is the email someone gets automatically when they join your course for the first time.
Step 3: Edit the Default Template
Click Edit next to the welcome email, then click Proceed.
You’ll be taken to the email builder.
Inside the builder, you’ll see text with double brackets like {{contact.first_name}}
or {{course.name}}
.
These are called custom values and they automatically fill in the right details for each person.
Leave these as they are so the email works properly.
You can edit the rest of the message to make it sound like you and reflect your brand. You can also change the colours, fonts and layout if you'd like.
Once you’re happy with it, click Save.
Step 4: Optional – Use a Workflow Instead
If you’d prefer to send your own email using a workflow, you can do that too.
Just go back to the Email Settings screen and untick the email you don’t want to use.
This stops it from being sent automatically so you can send something more custom through your workflow.
