How Do I Create An Automation?

Automations allow you automate processes in your business such as sending emails or giving your users access to your courses.

Automations should be used when you want the action to happen based on a specific action the user has taken. Here are some common examples:

If you want to send an email that is time sensitive like a newsletter or reminder for a workshop, you will want to use the Marketing Email Campaigns.

To create an automation, you will first need to create the trigger. The trigger is what tells the automation to start. Very important to remember when creating triggers, always make sure to add all the filters so the automation with start properly. We do not recommend having more than 2 triggers when possible for an automation as this can cause errors for your automations.

Once you have your trigger set, you can start adding your workflow steps. Some common steps include:

  • Wait "x" number of days before moving to the next action

  • Grant access to a membership product offer

Once you have your workflow all set up, you can publish it and it will be live. Always remember to save your work along the way so as not to lose anything.

Some tips for your automations:

  • If you are using the marketing campaign templates to make your automation emails more beautiful, you will need to edit them in Marketing > Emails > Templates. You will only be able to connect them in the workflow automation builder.

  • You can use folders to organize your workflows in your automations dashboard.

  • You can use multiple workflows if needed for your automations.

  • Always map out your workflows before you start building to make creating your workflow a snap!

  • If you are unsure if your automation is set up correctly, reach out on our chat support and we can take a look for you.
