How to Create an Automation in FEA Create
Running your business smoothly doesn’t have to mean endless hours of admin. With automations in FEA Create, you can set up actions that happen automatically based on what your users do. From sending emails to granting course access, automations save you time and make your business feel like it’s running on autopilot.
When to Use Automations
Automations are ideal when you want something to happen based on a user action. Common examples include:
For time-sensitive emails like newsletters or workshop reminders, use Marketing Email Campaigns instead.
Step 1: Set Up Your Trigger
Head to Automations > Create New Workflow. Use a template or start from scratch.
The trigger tells your automation when to start. Make sure you include all necessary filters so the automation works correctly. It’s best to keep your triggers to a maximum of two to avoid errors.
Step 2: Add Workflow Steps
Once your trigger is ready, you can build your workflow. Common steps include:
Sending an email
Waiting a set number of days before the next action
Granting access to a membership or course
Adding a tag to a contact
Using conditional logic to customize actions based on user behavior
Step 3: Test Your Automation
Before publishing, test your automation to make sure it works as expected. Check triggers, workflow steps, and email content to avoid any errors once live.
Step 4: Publish Your Automation
When your workflow is complete and tested, publish it to make it live. Remember to save your work frequently.

Organize your workflows using folders in your Automations dashboard.
Use multiple workflows if needed.
Plan your workflows before building to make the process easier.
Consider using popular automation combinations like "form submission → tag → email series" or "purchase → grant course access → follow-up email" for inspiration.
