Setting up an automation sequence is a great way to welcome new customers and guide them through your products or services. In this tutorial, we'll cover how to set up an onboarding automation sequence for purchased products.
Step 1: Create a New Workflow
To get started, navigate to your marketing automation section and click "Create Workflow." Give your new workflow a name that is descriptive and easy to remember.
Step 2: Add Your Trigger
Select the trigger that will start your automation sequence. For onboarding sequences for purchased products, we recommend using the "Order Form Submission" trigger. You will need to add several filters to this trigger to make sure your automation only targets the correct people.
Step 3: Add Filters
In the filter section, you will need to select which funnel or website you want to target, which page to target (usually the checkout page), and which product the customer purchased. You will also need to select the submission type (sale, bump, etc.). If you choose the bump, be sure to only add emails that need to be sent if someone has selected the bump.
If you want to create an abandoned cart automation, you can add a filter for when someone abandons the cart. This will only work if you are using a two-step order form.
Step 4: Add a Tag
Always add a tag so you know what the customer has purchased. This will make it easier to target them in the future.
Step 5: Add Your Action
Next, you'll need to add an action. For onboarding sequences, we recommend starting with an email. If you have email templates created, you can use one of them to save time. Add your name, email, and subject line.
Step 6: Create an Email Series
If you want to create a whole email series, you can do that as well. You can add a weight to each email to control when it is sent.
Step 7: Turn on Your Automation
Finally, turn on your automation and publish it. Make sure to save all changes.
By following these steps, you can set up an onboarding automation sequence for purchased products. This will help welcome new customers and guide them through your products or services.
