Quizzes are a wonderful way to bring your content to life and support your students in a more engaging way. Whether you're helping them consolidate what they've just learned or guiding them through new material, a quiz can make the experience more interactive, memorable and fun.
They’re also perfect for giving your students a sense of achievement as they make progress through your course.
You can add a quiz at any point in your course, but it's especially helpful to place it after a lesson or video to help your students reflect on what they've just learned.
Step 1: Add a Quiz to Your Course
Go to the Create Your Offer area in FEA Create and open the course where you want to add the quiz.
Choose the category or subcategory you'd like it to go under, then click the + icon and select Assessment.
Give your quiz a name, choose "Quiz" as the assessment type and click Save.
Step 2: Set the Passing Score (Optional)
If you'd like your students to pass the quiz with a certain score, tick the box to require a passing score and type in the percentage they need.
Step 3: Add a Quiz Thumbnail
Upload an image to use as a thumbnail for your quiz. This helps it stand out and gives a visual cue to your students.
Tip: The best size for your image is 1280 x 720 pixels.
Step 4: Add Custom Messages
You can personalise the messages that students see when they pass or fail the quiz. This is a lovely way to encourage and support them.
Step 5: Add Questions to Your Quiz
Click Add Question to begin adding your quiz questions. You can choose between:
Single choice (one correct answer)
Multiple choice (more than one correct answer)
For each question, you can:
Choose the correct answer
Delete any answer options you don’t need
Add explanations to help your students understand the answers
Don’t forget to click Save after each question!
Step 6: Enhance Your Questions
You can make your quiz more engaging by using these extra features:
Clone a question to quickly create similar ones
Drag and drop to reorder the questions
Format your text using bold, italic or coloured text.
You can also:
Add bullet or numbered lists
Insert links
Add tables to display content clearly
Use Custom Values to personalise things like names or course details
Upload images from your media library or paste an image URL
Step 7: Save and Set Visibility
Once your quiz is ready, scroll down and choose one of the two options:
Draft: Use this while you’re still working on your quiz
Publish: Choose this once your quiz is ready for your students to take
You can switch between draft and published anytime.
Step 8: Preview Your Quiz
Click Preview to see what your quiz will look like. This is a great way to check everything is displaying correctly.
Note: You won’t be able to submit answers in preview mode – this only works for students accessing the course through your live domain.
Troubleshooting Tips
My question content disappears when I move it: If this happens, try closing and reopening the question to refresh the view.
My changes aren’t saving: Always click Save after editing your quiz or adding questions to make sure everything is saved properly.
That’s it! You’ve now created a fully functioning quiz for your course in FEA Create. This is a great way to make your content more interactive and support your students’ learning journey.
Now that your quiz is ready, why not take it yourself to see how it feels for your students? It’s a lovely way to experience it from their perspective and make any final tweaks.
