How to Fix Website Redirects and Security Warnings

These issues are common and usually easy to fix. If your website is redirecting somewhere unexpected or showing a security warning, it can feel worrying. This guide explains what is happening and what to check first.

Updated this week

What does this usually mean?

Redirects and security warnings are almost always linked to how your domain is connected. They do not usually mean anything is broken or unsafe.

These issues often appear:

  • Just after connecting a domain

  • When switching between funnels and website pages

  • While security settings are still updating

  • If the wrong DNS records have been added (for example, adding your website as a main domain rather than a subdomain if you have your website elsewhere and wish to continue using it)

Why is my site redirecting to the wrong page?

Sometimes your website may open a different page than you expect. This is common and easy to fix.

Check your default landing page

You can choose which page your website opens on.

  1. Go to Settings

  2. Select Domains & URL Redirects

  3. Click Manage next to your domain

  4. Click the three dots on the right and choose Edit

  5. Set the default page your website should load

Check your www redirect

Sometimes the site loads differently with or without www at the start of the address. This redirect ensures visitors always go to the same page, whichever version they type in.

Check your DNS records

A common mistake is adding your website as a main domain rather than a subdomain (for example, if you have your website elsewhere and wish to continue using it). This can cause redirects or security warnings.

  • Double-check that each record is added as the correct type (main domain vs subdomain)

  • Update any records that were added incorrectly

Why am I seeing a security warning?

Security warnings normally appear when a browser cannot yet confirm the site is secure.

  • Your domain was connected recently

  • SSL is still being applied in the background

  • Your browser is showing an older version of the page

FEA Create applies security automatically. No manual setup is needed.

How long does this take to fix?

Most redirects and security warnings resolve within a few hours. In some cases, it can take up to 48 hours for everything to fully update.

What can I check right now?

  • Open your site in a private or incognito browser window

  • Check the domain settings in FEA Create to confirm where it is connected

  • Refresh the page after some time has passed

If the site works in one browser or device but not another, this is usually a temporary caching issue.

When should I contact support?

Reach out to support if:

  • The issue is still happening after 48 hours

  • Your site is redirecting somewhere completely unexpected

  • You cannot access your site at all

  • You suspect DNS records were added incorrectly

Include your domain name and what you are seeing on screen to help the team assist you faster.

Most of the time, a little patience is all that is needed. These issues are part of normal website setup and do not mean your site is unsafe or damaged.
