How Do I Create A Challenge Funnel?

Creating a Challenge Funnel with FEA Create

Updated yesterday

A Challenge Funnel is a great way to grow your audience, build engagement, and provide value through a multi-day experience. It usually includes an opt-in page where people sign up, a thank you page to confirm their registration, and automated emails to guide them through each day of the challenge.

With FEA Create, you can easily set this up using the pre-built templates available in your dashboard.

Step 1. Access the Challenge Funnel Template

Log in to your FEA Create dashboard and go to Websites & Funnels, then Funnels. You’ll find a Challenge Funnel template that you can use again and again.

Before you start editing, clone the template to keep the original version for future use. Click the three dots next to the template, select Clone, give it a name, and click Confirm.

Step 2. Clone and Edit the Form

Before customising your funnel, you’ll need to duplicate the form linked to it.

Go to Websites & Funnels > Forms > Builder. Locate the form called Challenge Form, click the three dots beside it, and select Duplicate. Give your new form a name.

You can now edit your form by clicking into it. Add any additional fields you need, such as a phone number or preferences. If you’d like to receive an email notification when someone completes the form, click the bell icon and enable notifications. Once you’re happy, click Save.

Step 3. Edit the Opt-in Page

Next, return to Websites & Funnels > Funnels, and open your cloned Challenge Funnel. You’ll see the funnel steps listed, such as the Opt-in Page and Thank You Page. You can rename these steps and edit their URLs if needed.

To edit your opt-in page, click the down arrow beside the step and select Edit in New Tab. This opens the Site Builder, where you can add your challenge details, update the images, and personalise the content.

On your opt-in page, you’ll see a button set to Open Pop-up. When a user clicks this button, a pop-up form appears. To customise it:

  1. Click Pop-up Settings at the top of the page.

  2. Click the Edit (pen) icon to modify the pop-up.

  3. Replace the default form with your cloned form.

  4. Under button actions, make sure it’s set to Go to Next Step.

  5. Click Save when finished.

Step 4. Edit the Thank You Page

Once your opt-in page is complete, open the Thank You Page step and click Edit in New Tab. This page should confirm that users have signed up and outline what to do next.

You can include:

  • A short welcome message

  • A link to join your Facebook group

  • Any downloadable resources or bonus materials

  • Links to your social media profiles

When you’re happy with the design, click Save. Keep the page in draft mode until you’re ready to publish.

Step 5. Set Up the Automation

FEA Create provides an automation template for your challenge, so setting this up is quick and easy.

Go to Automation > Lead Gen Automations and select the Challenge Nurture Sequence workflow.

You’ll see the full automation flow is already set up. Here’s how to customise it:

  1. Update the Trigger: Click the trigger (Form Submitted) and select your new cloned form. Click Save Action.

  2. Add a Tag: Add a tag like Challenge Opt-In to keep your contacts organised. To create a new tag, simply type it in and click Add New Tag.

  3. Edit the Emails: Click each email step to update the subject line and content. The workflow uses pre-designed Challenge email templates. Before editing, click Save as New Template to keep the original intact.

You can then add links to your workbook, resources, or community. Adjust the Wait times between emails (for example, change two days to one day if your challenge runs daily).

When all updates are complete, save your workflow and switch the Publish toggle on.

Step 6. Final Checks and Launch

Before launching your challenge:

  • Double-check your forms are connected correctly.

  • Ensure your funnel pages are published.

  • Confirm your workflow is active.

Once everything is set, test your challenge funnel by signing up yourself to see the full participant experience.
