If you're looking to automate different parts of your business, you may want to consider using trigger links. Trigger links are links that, when clicked, spark an action. In this article, we'll discuss how to set up trigger links in FEA Create.
Step 1: Create a Trigger Link
The first step in setting up a trigger link is to create the link itself. To do this, go to Social Media & Email > Trigger Links > Events & Links and click Add Link.
Next, enter a name for your trigger link, such as "Event Info Link," and paste the URL where you want users to be directed.
For example, if you are hosting an event and want to provide additional information, enter the event page link. Click Save to finalize your trigger link.
Step 2: Use the Trigger Link in Your Emails
Once your trigger link is created, you can add it to your emails. To do this:
Open an email template or draft an email in your automation.
Click on Trigger Links and select the trigger link you created.
You can also customize the hyperlink text to make it more engaging, such as "Click here to learn more about our event!"
Step 3: Automate Actions with Trigger Links
Trigger links can be used in workflows to automate actions. To set this up:
Go to Automations > Create Workflow > Start from Scratch.
Name your workflow (e.g., "Event Interest Tracking").
Select the trigger Trigger Link Clicked and choose the relevant trigger link.
From here, you can define what happens when someone clicks the link. Possible actions include:
Sending a follow-up email.
Adding a tag to the contact (e.g., "Interested in Event").
Add to an Opportunity.
Using the Trigger Link in an Existing Workflow
You can use the wait step action can also be used in a separate, existing workflow for your trigger links. For example:
If a contact is in a sales workflow, an email with a trigger link can be sent.
A wait step can be added to track engagement before proceeding with further actions.
If the trigger link is clicked, the workflow can continue with follow-up actions.
If the link is not clicked within a set timeframe, alternative actions can be taken (e.g., sending a reminder email).
