How to Go Live in Communities

Updated over a month ago

You can go live directly inside your Community groups. This is a lovely way to connect, share updates, and create real-time moments with your members. In this guide, we will walk through how to start your live session and how to manage it once you're broadcasting.

Step 1: Open Your Community

Go to your Community area and choose the group where you want to go live.

Step 2: Click the Go Live Button

Inside the group, look for the Go Live button and click it.

Step 3: Choose Where Your Live Will Be Posted

Select the space where you want the live to appear. For example:

  • Announcements if you want everyone to see it

  • A paid or private group if your live is for specific members

You will also see the option When are you going live? This is currently set to Now and can't be changed yet.

Step 4: Check Your Camera and Microphone

You will see a preview of your video. Make sure your camera and microphone are working. You can choose which device to use from the dropdown options.

Step 5: Choose How You Want to Go Live

You have two options:

  1. Use the built-in video meeting room which keeps everything inside your Community.

  2. Use streaming software like Zoom. If you choose this, copy the stream link into your streaming settings from the platform.

Step 6: Add Your Post Details

Give your live a title and a short description. This lets members know what the live is about.

You can also choose whether the recording will stay in the group afterwards or only be visible to those who joined live.

Step 7: Start Your Live

Click Go Live to begin.

Members will receive a notification and can join you.

Step 8: Interact During Your Live

During the live, you will be able to:

  • See who has joined

  • Chat with your members

  • Share your screen

  • See reactions

Step 9: End the Live

When you are finished, click End Session.

The recording will process automatically. Once ready, members will be able to watch the replay if you set it to stay in your Community.

Once the recording has processed, it will be available for members to watch back.

Going live is a beautiful way to stay connected with your community and bring your message to life in a warm, personal way.
