When you use an email template inside a workflow in FEA Create, any edits you make there will only apply to that workflow. They won’t affect the original template stored in your main email template library.
Step 1: Create your template in Emails
To get started, go to Social Media & Email, then click on Emails and choose Templates. Here, you’ll see a collection of ready-made templates. You can clone one of these to customise for your brand and message.
Step 2: Add your template to a workflow
Once your email template is ready and saved, head over to your Workflows section and open the automation you’d like to edit. You can use one of our templates. You can add actions like tagging or wait steps, and then choose to send an email.
To do this:
Click on the + to add an action
Choose Send Email
On the right-hand side, select your saved email template
Step 3: Editing the template in a workflow
You can click Edit to make changes to the template right within the workflow. This can be helpful for small tweaks or personalisation specific to that automation.
But it’s important to know: changes made here won’t affect the original template. They only apply inside this specific workflow.
You’ll also see a label that says [with edits] next to the email in your workflow. This lets you know that the version here has been changed.
Helpful tip
If you want to make big updates to your email template (like layout or branding), it’s best to do that in the Templates section under Emails. This way, your updates can be reused in other automations too.
So just remember: edits made in a workflow stay in that workflow only.
