If you want to reach a wider audience, having your website available in multiple languages is a great way to do it. FEA Create makes it easy to create versions of your website in different languages so that visitors can view your content in the language they are most comfortable with. This can improve the experience for your audience and make your business feel more professional and accessible.
Step 1: Publish Your Main Website
Make sure your main website is fully created, published, and looks exactly how you want it to appear.
Step 2: Clone Your Website
Go to your main website, click the three dots, and select Clone.
Name the new website to reflect the new language, for example, "French Website."
Click Confirm. It may take a few minutes for FEA Create to duplicate your website.
Step 3: Update the Website Path
Click into your new website, go to Settings, and update the website path.
For example, you could use
mywebsite.com/frfor the French version.Using the correct language code in the path helps search engines know which language the page is in.
Step 4: Translate Your Text
Go through each page of your new website and translate all the text into the new language.
Don’t forget to update menus and navigation items so they match the language.
Check images that have text to make sure they are translated or replaced if needed.
Update meta titles and descriptions in the new language for better search engine visibility.
Step 5: Add a Language Switcher
On both your main and secondary language websites:
Go to Edit Page.
Click the plus icon to add a button or text.
Highlight the text you want to act as a language switcher.
Click the link button and paste the link to the other language website.
Customize the text colour and position if you like.
Step 6: Test Your Website
Check your new language website on both desktop and mobile to make sure everything looks correct and links work.
Now, when visitors click the link, they will be taken to the version of your website in the other language, creating a smooth experience for all users.
Tip: If you plan to add more languages in the future, using consistent naming and paths for each language will make it easier to manage your websites.
